Congratulations to Eileen Hopkins of Hurst Trefoil Guild and helper at 3rd Bexley (URC) Guide Unit, for being selected as a “Face of Bexleyheath Mall”. Nominated by Helen Blanchard, for her continued help and support, Eileen was chosen last year out of many nominations.
The Mall, which maintains many shopping centres around the UK, was aiming to capture 1000 images of shoppers and local community heroes.
The idea was born from “The 1000 faces of E17”, a photographic celebration of the cultural diversity that exists in Britain today. They asked Hal Satterthwaite, the artist behind the original 1000 faces to re-create the project on a national scale.
During an 11 week tour, the artist took 35,000 photographs! Eileen’s picture and the other “Faces of Bexleyheath” can be seen in Bexleyheath Mall – more than once, so pop along and have a look!
